We always look forward to meeting new patients during their first visit to our Monroe Township dental office. The initial visit is meant for us to get to know one another better and to answer any and all of your questions. When you arrive for your first visit, please be prepared to complete all insurance and health information forms that will allow us to begin your dental treatment. We will ask you to fill out several forms that will get you acquainted with our office.
Your initial exam will last approximately one hour and include x-rays, oral cancer screening and TMJ evaluation. Oral hygiene instructions will be provided along with suggestions to help you care for your teeth. During this important hour long visit, we hope to make the initial exam as informative as possible so that you can get a clear idea about what you or your child's dental treatment would consist of. In most cases, we will also clean your teeth on this visit and provide an evaluation that will outline your existing dental problems and proposed treatment.
At your first visit, Dr. Richard Goldberg and his staff will examine your teeth and gums, screen you for oral cancer, make X-rays of your teeth as needed and complete a TMJ (temporomandibular or jaw joint) exam. This information will be used to give you a preliminary idea of the problems that may be present. During the initial examination for each patient, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of dental treatment.
- What treatment procedures will be used to correct your diagnosis?
- How much will it cost?
- What are my payment options?
Once the records have been taken, Dr. Richard Goldberg will be able to give his final diagnosis and treatment options. While most of the questions can be answered during your first visit and initial examination, we will address specific areas after careful analysis of the diagnostic records. We believe that thorough analysis and in-depth planning leads to superior results and higher patient satisfaction.
